I received this story by email that I have had to cut down due to the restriction on characters on AB. The story is about a little girl who lost her dog Abbey, and asked her mother to help her write a letter to God so that he would recognise her. She wrote -
Dear God, will you please take care of my dog, she died yesterday and is with you in heaven and I miss her so much. I hope you will play with her, she likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending you a photograph of her so you will know she is my dog. Love Meredith. The letter was put in an envelope with a picture of the dog with Meredith and addressed to God/Heaven together with a return address. The little girl put several stamps on the front of the envelope as it had a long way to go to get to heaven and dropped it in the letter box. Some days later, a package arrived in gold packaging addressed to Meredith together with a book 'When a Pet Dies'., and the original letter and photograph. The letter said 'Abbey arrived safely in heaven, having the picture was a big help as I recognised her straight away. Abbey isnt sick anymore, and her spirit is here with me as it is in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we dont hav any pockets I have sent your picture back to you with a little book. Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me, what a wonderful mother you have, I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day, and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I am wherever there is love. Love God

I dont know who did the response, but just shows there are some kind people out there and guess it was someone from the post office, also on the email I had there was the photograph that was sent with the letter of the girl with her arms around a lovely black labrador.
Must admit it bought a lump to my throat too.
