Let it out !
throw it out the door when i starts squatting
My sister says rub the cats nose in it. put a drop of some thing strong on the floor where its done its poo. Some thing that will put it off doing it. Cat litter tray in the house with cat nip in if all else does not work. hope that helps
You should NEVER rub a cat's nose in its mess, that actually won't teach it anything. Is it a kitten or new cat? Does it have a cat flap and is just being lazy by not going out or can't it get out? really need to know all these things otherwise it's hard to say. my cat was litter trained as a kitten and has an area of the garden as her loo, so did it not have any training? other than that i'm with seal, although maybe not throwing, put it outside when it looks like it;s going to go. Noise is the best punishment clap when it starts to go and chase it outside.

I originally asked the question. We do have a cat flap and we have tried an animal repellent kind of stuff. We can't throw her out when she does it, because we are either at work or in bed! She's quite old but still none the less goes out. She always does it in the same place and there is no way of blocking it off
Don't rub your cat's nose in it! That's way beyond cruel and the cat will learn nothing apart from the owner is mean and deranged. Get a litter tray!! After all, humans have indoor loos, so why shouldn't a cat, and especially an old cat? Would you like to squat in the garden in the rain, winter? Most large pet places or Argos etc, sell a litter tray which is like an igloo with a removable lid and a filter which absorb smells. The pine woodchip litter is better at absorbing liquids and has a pleasant fragrance. One thing to note is that a lot of previously 'clean' cats do become a bit absent-minded with age and sometimes mess where previously they didn't. It comes to us all....
hi we had an elderly cat who had accidents in the house like you we were out or asleep when it happened. your choices are put it out when you go out/go to sleep and block off flap.put an old rabbit hutch or if you have a shed install a cat flap and put bedding for it in there. it is only cruel to be kind. or it could be more serious the cat could have senial dementia thats what our cat had it is equvilant, i think, to alzheimers in humans so little you can do. of course put nice kitty toilet on the patch to encourage it to use it rather than the floor. good luck.
