Tiny white bugs/Wicker

Hi All
About six months ago we had to chuck a wicker blind as when we closed/opened it we found loads of tiny (about half the size of a grain of salt) white bugs/mites on the window sill.
Yesterday I discovered more of these bugs/mites on our chest of drawers. It's worth noting that there is a dried wick type flower display on the drawers.
I think there is a connection between wicker and these bugs.
Does anyone have any idea what these are?

I can remember years ago (around 1968) we all had baskets made from a wicker material and they had little bugs in them. We never did find out what they were!

We had these a few years ago - I can't remember the proper name for them but they are also called book /flour mites. They live in damp areas (including in the woodwork which will be in your chest of drawers).
We had to get the envirnomental health people out (free with the council) who gave us a spray to get rid of them. They can be found in the wood behind the glue on veneer on drawers/cupboards.
I would get the council out to get rid of them. Good luck!

Get a can of fly spray, spray like mad everywhere they might be, and leave the room before you breathe !!

oh my god, i have these in my house, nobody knew what they were, they are horrid, i have seen them in every room but always just see one or two, my house was only built a year ago so i dont understand where they come from!!! Help
