This is a serious request. A man called Ross Green had his car stolen tonight while at a service station just
off Junction 13 of the M1 on the way home from LKA. His black and
white Border Collie Tyson was in the back.

Car registration details: Registration
KJ55 XFZ, Dark Blue Vauxhall Vectra Estate. Last seen J13 of M1 close
to Milton Keynes.

Anyone in the area please be aware - and keep everything crossed that
the thief at least has the compassion to ensure the safety of the dog.

Lankeela

And please, this is not the time or the place for ignorant comments.

thats terrible, I presume he has notified Dog Lost?
Question Author
Yes its on there, and it has been circulated to loads of sites
and everyone possible is being notified. Please crosspost to anyone anywhere, as where he was taken from is very central and he could have gone in any direction. Its your worst nightmare.
I will post it on our new collie forum

Please can anyone crosspost and send to anyone you know in the area. Many thanks.
Oh my word that is sad news. I hope Ross and Tyson are reunited. Can't imagine what he must be feeling.

The jungle drums have been working all night, and hundreds of posters have already been sent. People have been putting it on all their groups both doggy and non doggy, and I have just put it on the football section of the Sports Answerbank as MK Dons are at home this afternoon.

Lankeela, I have posted it on numerous places, do you know if these people have been notified? I cant imagine what the owners are going through, a lesson to us all not to leave our dogs in the cars even when filling up with petrol I think.

Yes Jan picked the details up through UKShowdogs. BTW thats a very good group for 'show' people.

lankeela well done for posting this, as it's made me register on DogLost as a helper. Although I don't drive I will do all I can in my area. So thank you. Also plan to donate when cash is a little more forthcoming!

So many times, though, I see "This dog WASN'T wearing ID"-as well as being a legal requirement, isn't it also the sensible thing to do? I hope all dog owners who see this and don't keep a tag on their dog think twice when they see how many loved pets go missing and can't be found.
Question Author
Even if you can't physically help, the messages of support help people when their pets are missing. Yes it is a legal requirement for dogs to wear a tag when out in public, but many of these go missing from home and this particular dog was in the car on the way home from a show. More dogs these days are microchipped or tattooed, although it doesn't stop them going missing.

Still no news of Tyson, fingers crossed something happens soon.
Lankeela, I have posted it everywhere I am registered on and one kind chap on a yahoo group is a taxi driver, and is circulating the details to all his fellow cabbies in the area.

I am sure everyone is praying for his safe return soon.
Question Author
Thanks Jules, the latest is that the owner has a new mobile phone with the original number. His old phone was used by the thieves and he has some numbers called after it was stolen.

They are now thinking of going public on the fact that he is a 'valuable' show dog rather than just a pet, in the hope that the reward might tempt either the thief or someone who knows him to negotiate a deal.

please keep us posted if any news [ hopefully good ] comes to hand regarding Tyson - can't do anything much to help, but he has supporters on the other side of the world, too

fingers crossed S
Question Author
Great news! The car has been found in Watford, and there is news that Tyson is safe and well, although not yet back with his owners. Will update as soon as I know more.
Question Author
Tyson is now back home safe and well.

I hope Ross gets him microchipped.
What good news
oh thats great news, best christmas present ever!!

Oh that is great news, you never know just how some people would react in that situation - it doesn't bear thinking about - thanks lankeela for all the updates cheers, S
