They bring companionship and love to a lot of people and caring for a pet makes us wanted and needed. If cats are pointless then so is every other living creature, including humans.
No, & following on from theonlyone & LoftyLottie's nice posts - our Milly caught a mouse in the garden this morning & presented it to my husband in the dining room!Luckily, he's on holiday this week & managed to put it outside before I came into the room! Aaarrrggg!
P.S. Catching mice on our behalf, is good enough reason to own a cat for me!
Un;ess they are on a farm where they can help to control vermin, then YES.
Those that are kept in an urban environment are useless articles of adornment. They foul gardens and kill song birds.
A dog owner (mostly) walks a dog under control, a bird owner keeps it in a cage or similar etc etc. A cat owner just lets it roam to do it's own thing.
Humans roam and do their own thing snug, and in my opinion cause a lot more damage to wildlife and the environment than cats! Perhaps we should keep a lot of humans in control on leads. Well it might help keep the yob culture under control!!
There is no such thing as a cat OWNER.
You own a dog, but a cat - no.
A cat condescends to let you provide it with food and shelter, thereby saving it extra effort.
If you humanise them for two seconds then cats are your cool friend, fiesty, independant, good looking and in control. Dogs would be that freind that agrees with you regardless of what you say and tries too hard. Give me cats any day.
(Only exception to the rule is my mothers dog who I quite like, that's it).
Boring personalities hollie! My cats are far from boring, and just as involved with us as the dogs. They respond as much as dogs, but actually don't do anything they don't want to do, which (in my view) is far more intelligent!
