Dog Fluff!
6 Answers
Hey all,
Now as you may have seen, We had a new arrival in our house a week and half ago, in the form of Cleo!
She gets on fantastically with our other dog Ashke, who comes in when I get in every evening, she jumps all over him, hangs off his paws and he happily plays with her, until after a while they collapse in a heap, well he does and she climbs on top of him to go to sleep!
Ashke, my Samoyed, as you can imagine has long fur! Cleo likes to hang off this, and although he is brushed regularly, he always has tufts of fur coming out of him.
What I'm worried about, is her eating this fur which she seems to pull off in little clumps. She then comes upto me, and has white tufts hanging out of her mouth! So I know I get most of it off her, but can eating his fur have the same effect on her as say, eating the inside of a dog bed?
I only use eating the contents of a bed as an example as when I was at college studying animal care, Ted, one of the tutors dogs died through eating his bedding.
I dont want to have to keep them apart, as they get on so well, and as they will be sharing a home, I dont think that would be fair!
I'm just very wary of her eating any 'fluff'!

I wouldnt worry about it too much, I would think that the dog that died from eating bedding ate substantial amounts that stuck in its gut.

Thanks Jules,
It just seems like my Samoyed never ever stops moulting!
He is mainly an out side dog, he lives out in his kennel and the garden as he just gets too hoy indoors. I'd love him to be an inside dog too, but I just dont think it would be fair on him!
Cleo was just holding on to his belly furr, and he ran across the front room with her hanging on and sliding along the floor lol!

Hey Wolf,
I have tried!! She doesnt pay much attention to me though!
Poor Ashke sits infront of me with his paw in the air and a little Cleo hanging off the end!
They had a little nap, and are now back to attacking each other in the front room, so I think its time for Cleo to go to bed, Ashke to have some time to relax and me to spend some relax time wiht the cats, a big tub of treats and lots of cuddles!
