I agree ansteyg. The more choice you give your dog the more fussy he will become. put his feed down and try to offer him some food from your hand (thats if it is dry food) if doesnt eat anything then take the food away and try again in an hour or so.Rather than leaving his food down all the time you dictate his meal times he will soon realise that if he doesnt eat when you put it down then he goes hungry. It worked with my two dogs , they now gobble there food down. Good luck
Hey Varda:
My mother has been raising yorkies all of my life. I would have to say that if you will leave the dog food down for him and not give him any chicken or turkey then he will eat his dog food. He is probably just like my dog and she won't eat her dog food until she is sure that she isn't going to get anything else. Then when she realizes that is all she is going to get she goes over and eats her dog food. What I do is I give my dog people food every day, but if she hasn't eaten any of her dog food that day then I don't give her anything else. I say to try not to give her anything until she starts eating her dog food. Also, it isn't bad for them to eat people food, but they still need to eat their food because it has all of the nutreints that they need, and to be sure that they get all of the nutrition that they require; they need to eat their dog food. I hope this helps.
