Is my dog copying my pup?
Hi everyone, I told you all last week about my new pup! and i had already got another dog aged 7 months {both German Shepherds] well, things have really settld down now and they get on famously but Jaxon aged 7 months has now decided that he wants 4 meals a day being that this is what the puppy has, he has also gone back onto goats milk last thing at night and first thing in the morning {but i water his down] I just wondered if he is ok doing this, i have heard that getting a new pup can sent the older one back to puppy stage. I have cut the amount of Jaxons food down so he is still having the same daily amount but split into four meals instead of two. Am i ok doing this only it makes my life much easier? Thanx. Sue

I would put the younger one somewhere with his food and use the time to play/work the older one to give him some individual attention. Once he has started to have fewer meals but larger ones his stomach will have adjusted to take the bigger amount, and reverting to a smaller feed more often might make it difficult for him to feel full up and for him to utilise his food properly as he will feel hungry having only had a small feed if that makes sense. The goats milk is ok. .
