I have this pair of African Greys (male and female). They seem to play 'lovingly' with each other especially in the dark, do they mate by 'kissing' beak to beak?

No, parrots mate like all birds - with the male mounting the female fronm the rear, which takes just a few seconds, as it's an unsafe activity in the wild. Your birds may be indulging in some pre-mating canoodling, or simple bonding activity as a pair, but I'm not an expert, so hopefully someone else may know.
After the preliminaries the hen crouches and holds her wings out slightly to give the cock bird a 'platform' to stand on. He then climbs on top and the hen holds her tail to one side, this enables the cock bird to reach her cloaca with his and sperm is transferred.
Buy the male a copy of "Parrots Wives" & a box of tissues & you wont have to worry about them mating.
