Where to place robins nest box.

Any one please tell me where to locate a robin nest box and at what height.I have a smallish garden with 8 foot fir tree hedge at the bottom.

Probably too late for this year- best sited in the autumn so they get used to it and it gets weathered and rid of the new look/smell.

letterkenny we had robins nesting in our garden last year,they were only two to three feet off the ground nesting in the kids old bikes, it was such a pleasure to see them come out the nest to fly away, there was only one egg that never hatched from seven ggod luck
