What is the answer???
48 Answers
Animals & Nature is a lovely site. So many interesting questions and answers from mostly genuine people.
I thoroughly enjoy the banter and debates and the knowledge that I gain from everyone who enters into the spirit of the site.
Why then do we have to put up with the half wits that post cruel/stupid/un-funny comments to genuine requests for help?
I am not referring to the 'chicken' episode - that was a debate and a half and yes, we all had our thoughts on that. But today - there have been a few individuals who get a kick out of ridicule and posting comments that are not appropriate!!
Surely this will put people off posting genuine questions?

What is the answer? Do we ignore them in the hope that they will go away?
Why do these people get a kick out of this sort of behaviour?

And although I am no expert, I try my best to answer questions if I can. I also post notes to people who have lost pets, or have problems to give them some encouragement.
I do not understand why someone would want to write about putting the dog in the grill, rubbing its nose in the mess and then putting the boot in!
I do not need to 'loosen' up. I just do not understand why someone could write that sort of thing?

Ignore all the stupid remarks, report the poster to the editor - I have done this on several occasions, when I feel they have overstepped the line of decency, courtesy and humour. If we all did it, then surely they would have to take notice. I have asked for the facility to remove answers by the poster of the question to be put back, but have had not a reply. Off to start reporting!
Agree with you alfie. There's a section for silliness, it's ChatterBank (i'm simple, so frequently in it). I hate to see daft answers given to what are genuine questions on other categories. Yes sure, inject humour in it, but to take the pi$$ just for the sake of it is childish and very unfair to the person who asked the question.
Rightio, that's my sensible answer for the day-back to CB ;-)

Hi alfieblue. I joined last October and have found the help invaluable and informative re. quizzes, etc. I also love the health section and animals and nature. Having looked at Chatterbank it's not really for me except to say the occasional hi to bigmamma or other lovely posters. I find it rather intimidating and do feel a little perturbed by some answers to genuine questions to the point where I don't think I'd ever ask one !
