You can get llamas or dogs to protect your livestock (much as sheepdogs do now). I'm a great believer in re-introducing our old native species. I know I'll probably incur the wrath of other farmers, but I love wolves and I honestly think there could be a place for them in some of our wilder places. I know they've already got them in a wildlife park in Scotland and maybe they could re-introduce them in somewhere like the mountains here in Wales or the New Forest or Dartmoor. I'll probably get a load of flack from folk who live in those places, but if there's enough wild game for them to hunt, they'll be OK. Perhaps they could be contained in special places so they wouldn't be a threat to our livestock... oh, I don't know, but I'd love to see them.
