Tigger is not well

She threw up a rather large furball last night and ever since then she brings up everyting she eats. I called the emergency vet and they advised to not feed her until this evening. They also advised to give her plain chicken or rice to eat later. I haven't noticed her having diarrhoea though. The vet reckons she may have caught a bug.

If there is no change I will have to take her to the emergency vet tomorrow morning before she gets too dehydrated. She is sleeping at the moment.

Is there anything else I can do for her?

hope she gets better soon, sounds like her tummy needs a little rest and sleep will be doing her good. when ever patch was off colour mum used to whisk up a bit of egg for him, whether it did him any good i dont know but it did perk him up. take her to the vet any way she might be running a temperature and might need something from the vets, give her plenty of tlc, and fingers crossed for you shes uo and racing round the house soon.xx
oops that should be up, margo and cupar send their mieows too.xx

Thank you very much IAP and Mad,

She is sleeping on the sofa at the moment and her whiskers are twitching so I think she is in deep sleep. I will leave her to rest and I hope Bluey leaves her alone too. She is still quite bright-eyed and bushy tailed and doesn't look ill so I'll see how we get on over night.

Awww thank you BM, they are a worry when you notice they are not themselves. She is resting at the moment so fingers crossed I don't have to take her to the vet tomorrow. She hates getting in the cat box. Poor thing :-(

I did not know that sorry, I do know vets are very expensive if you don't have insurance tho.

If she's preened herself lately that mabe the only reason for the furball and is making her feel ill when she tries to eat.
Question Author
I have got insurance for both of them. When I spoke to the emergency vet she said it would cost 80 to get her checked tomorrow but I don't know if the insurance covers a check up. It could even be more if she receives any treatment.

I so hope she is OK tomorrow. Lol
Don`t worry about dehydration just yet Tiggs, when my cat had a virus, he wouldn`t drink. The vet wasn`t overly concerned about it even though it had been 5 days. I squirted water into his mouth with a syringe until he was well enough to drink for himself which was after a week.

Thanks Hua. She seems OK at present. xxx
Sorry to hear your cat is unwell tigger - they are such a worry as they can't tell you where it hurts can they? I should think you are doing what's best at the moment - let her rest and have something plain to eat if she wants it later. They mend themselves pretty well and I'm sure she'll be back to normal soon.
Flossie and Daisie send love - Flossie has just walked all over the keyboard!
