My darling darling little cat, has been diagnosed with a tumor in her mouth. The vet has given her anti-inflammitories, but has said that other than a horrendious operation, which is out of the question, nothing can be done. I know its grasping at straws, but has anyone out there been through this and had a positive outcome? please?

so sorry to hear your very sad news i cant offer any help but just to let you know there are lots of us on here to talk to if you need to ruth
Way back in the eighties I had a dog with a tumour in his skull. The vet wanted to put him to sleep as he was in pain and suffering but I wanted to give him a chance and he gave me some anti-inflammatories to see if they worked.

He lived for another 18 months and did not seem to be in any discomfort or suffering in any way.

So - there is hope.

Best wishes for you and your little girl.

So sorry to hear of your news, but Wolf is right, there is always hope. As long as your little girl is not suffering pain or has a poor quality of life then just love her and make the most of her.
Ruthann is right to say there are many of us out here who will offer comfort and shoulders to cry on. You will find many of us are thinking of you at this time and hoping all will be well.
So sorry to hear your news, bollie. I hope your little girl can still have some quality of life with you. A loving owner and a good home can be wonderful palliative care. I wish you both well. Love, K xxx

Thanks everyone for your lovely replies. She's doing ok at the moment, just giving her loads of cuddles and letting her do exactly what she wants. The prognosis is 4 - 12 weeks, but im just taking one day at a time, as long as shes not in pain, a good dollop of denial is helping me to cope
I told my friend about your little girl, and she happens to believe in absent healing. I'm not sure myself, but anyway, she asked me to give you the phone number of a lady that she uses. This lady does not charge a lot of money, and is evidently a very genuine person. She is called Dorothy and her number is: 01258 454351.
I wish you all the very best.
Linda.
