All 4 babies successfully fledged and flying. They still come back to the porch with their parents every night to roost (and will now do so until they fly to their winter quarters) xxxx

Hi girls!! This is a quick message - lovely to hear from you all. Will email i promise next week. Wee daughter coming back this weekend from uni - so mega clean up going on and pup has been groomed this am (quite a difficult task but just about managed it with bribery!!!!).

Found my glasses t'other morn!!! Thought I would have one last look when I was feeding fish - and saw sunlight glinting on something in the shrubs etc behind the pond!!!

Pup was on the case (Lol) - and there they were - dangling off a branch!!!!!
Now I never venture behind the pond - too spidery etc - but obviously mums little helper had done a runner and the specks had got caught on a branch (in his quest to get away!!!!).

Managed to grab them - and they are not too bad - just a wee bit bent!!!!

I usually take pup for walk down the beach which we both love and also to the forest which is near - but there is a graveyard there (in the forest)- beauifully kept - but pup wont go near it - he gets very jittery - so have to go round it so to speak. Luckily there is enough forest for us to enjoy. Yesterday I decided to take him to local heathland and again - he hated it - i must admit - it was spooky. Just felt it wasnt right and pup couldn't wait to get back home - wont be going there again!!

On another note, daughter and i took pup for lovely walk in forest few miles from us, came across a monument dedicated to someone who had died there (hunting( (im talking many years ago (1800) and yes, pup wouldn't go near the site - pulled on his lead, wouldnt go near it.

What can they sense???

Have any of you girls had a similar experience???

Love to you all. xxxxx

Hi Girls,

Just been reading through your entertaining posts and enjoying them. Glad you found your glasses Alfie. I did laugh!! Thought of you last night when little Benji stole my yoghurt pot and proceeded to run round the room with it until he settled under the table and licked it clean. He then cleaned his revoltingly sticky face on the sofa throws and carpet.

My shoulder is fine now RuthAnn.

My swallows have now disappeared. I do miss them, but it's nice not to have to keep cleaning out the porch.

Am feeling somewhat lack lustre this week after a busy time doing my spring cleaning in September and getting to grips with the garden.

My little Meggie is spooked by the horrible man next door Alfie (so am I!!) Her hackles rise when she hears his voice and she refuses to go anywhere near him.

I do believe that animals are more devoped senses than us when it comes to all things spooky!!
Have a lovely weekend!

hi all not had a good weekend when i got up yesterday issy had been hurt a smashed face and broken leg she had managed to get in the cat flap and into her box and there she laid she is at the vets on a drip having antibiotics and pain relief till they get her stablised then hopefully they will be able to xray her tomorrow the vet doesnt think her leg will be a problem but is not sure about her face he doesnt think her bottom jaw is broken he says the damage is to the upper part of her face so i am dreading it in case they say that there is nothing they can do when they get the xrays back and i have to lose another one
awww Ruthann, I have just read your post about Issy. How is she today? Do you know what happened to her, poor little sweetie? I must admit, my first thought was that she must have been hit by a car. Thank goodness she managed to crawl back home.
You and Mr R must be worried sick. I send you my love and prayers that she recovers ok. They are fighters, these little pussycats.
Question Author
Oh Ruthann,

Poor Issy and poor you. I am sending you and Issy loads of love and will be thinking of her all day today. At least she got home and to the vets quickly, so they can sort out the pain and the shock. Hopefully they can sort her out - they can do wonders.

Keep us posted on here. I will be checking in regularly.

Much Love

Lottie

Question Author
Hi Ruth,

Thanks for getting back to us. I have my fingers crossed for Issy. Cats can do very well on three legs, and I have known cats to recover well from facial trauma. I shall be thinking of Issy tonight and routing for her. Will look in tomorrow about midday to see how things are going.

Lots of Love

Lottie.
Hi Ruth.
I too have been thinking of you and little Issy all day. Lets hope the vet lets her come home soon, she will feel more settled at home.

Ruth, she has survived a major trauma and an op. Those first few days were critical but she has made it, bless her. It will take her time to recouperate but I am sure she (and you) will get there.
Sorry, pressed the submit button too soon

Our thoughts are with you. I will say another little prayer for you and Issy. please let us know how things are going

hi all issy is doing fine still wont eat but has a lot of ulcers in her mouth so they are going to try syringing food this afternoon if she will take some they will let her home tonight all being well .i have got to go and do my level 2 food saftey course this afternoon i will never pass as my head is all over the place will update you tonight Ruthxx
Question Author
There is a powder you can sprinkle on food which makes a cat salivate profusely and makes it far easier for them to eat, Ruth. I had a little cat who had an injured mouth and permanent ulcers and this helped her enormously. The vet prescribed it and it wasn't too dear. It might be worth asking about it.

Thank you for keeping us up to date.

xxxxxxx for Issy

See you later

Ruth,

I came on here specially to see if you had posted. I am so pleased about Issy - bless her little heart. Every day should see an improvement now. Lots of lovely tasty treats for her now, eh!

I'm off to bed. I am eating a grapefruit. I just fancied it!! Wrong time of day, but who cares.

Lottie.

Sleep well little Issy (and you Ruth).
Dear Ruth - How are you doing? I was so sorry to hear about issy and also the time you have had lately. Sometimes sadly it all seems to come at once.

Bless issy, I hope she is feeling a wee bit better this morning - so glad she is back home with you. Im sure she will get stronger by the day. Must admit, when you said she was on your lap purring away it brought a lump to the throat - our pets are just amazing - the trust and love they have for us - issy will adapt - she's a wee star. Love to you all and cuddle for brave issy.

Your cassie sounds a pickle just like pup!

Pup is still up to his usual tricks of stealing!!! Latest booty was Bill the flowerpot man out in the garden!!! Bill and Ben sit in flowerpots fixed on the fence, but unfortunately for Bill, he was snatched!!!! Ho hum!!!! I thought pup was unusually quiet the other morning - now I know why!!!!

Anyway Bill is being strung together again and will be removed to a higher position!!!! Lol!!!

Hi to all the lovely friends on this thread.

I must go now for a wee while and take my tealeaf out for walkes!!!!

Will be back later. Love to all. xxxxxxxx

Question Author
Morning Alfie and others.

You have just made me giggle thinking of the flower pot man being snatched. How lovely!!

Wild and windy here now after the rain all day yesterday. Autumn is upon us!

Alfie, don't forget my email address. Three of us now are communicating by email as well as on here. Obviously, I am not pushing you but if this thread becomes 'contaminated' by trolls we need something to fall back on. I should hate to lose touch with you.

Hi Lottie! Had a lovely walk with pup the tealeaf!! It started off awfully wet this morn - then we managed to go out when the sun appeared. Back now, sun still shining but getting very blustery here!!

Flowerpot man has been put back together!!!! Lol - shows my age!!!! Do you know, my mum bless her stopped me from watching Bill and Ben the flowerpot men (and little weed) when I was a wee thing, because apparently I started to copy their way of speaking!!!!! Fond memories!!!!

Anyway Lottie, have located email address and will be sending one shortly. Would love to keep in contact with all the good friends i have made on here. As you say, the trolls are about.xxxxxxx
