All 4 babies successfully fledged and flying. They still come back to the porch with their parents every night to roost (and will now do so until they fly to their winter quarters) xxxx

anyone remember the wooden tops, issy is about the same her little mouth is still very sore so she wont eat been out this afternoon and bought some kitten food thought it might be a bit easier for her she tried then gave up, but shes still purring cassie also loves a flower pot she will dash in the greenhouse grab one then dash round the garden with it .we got drenched this afternoon we were putting up some electric fencing to stop jake giving himself colic by pigging out on the apples that are dropping off the tree because of the strong winds, when the heavens opened so you were lucky to get your wallk in the sun alfie.

Hi Ruthann,

I don't know whether I should post this, and I hope my fears are not justified, but cats also purr continuously when they are in pain.

It may be worth having a chat with your vet. Is Issy getting any nourishment? That powder I wrote about could make eating a lot easier for her as it increases the amount of saliva.

It may also be worth mashing down the kitten food with warm water to make it more liquid. Would it be easier to feed her with a syringe?

I am thinking of Issy all the time. xxxx

You are probably aware of all these things, but I felt I had to mention them because I am really desparate for Issy to get better as soon as possible.

Love to you and Issy xxxx
Hello everyone, its lovely to get your news.

Ruthann, I'm so glad Issy is starting to eat, thats bound to get better as her mouth improves, it must still be sore for her, bless her

Alfie, your pooch is a hoot LOL. The things he gets up to!!!

Lottie, I have nearly cracked the photo thing, I think

Can you ladies also remember Tales of The Riverbank? If I remember it right it was narrated by Johnny Morris, wasn't he wonderful with his animal comments.
Question Author
Johnny Morris was just wonderful.

Does anyone else remember Mr Pastry!!???

hi girls just come to see whats been happening today i loved tales of the river bank can you remember daktari with clarence the crosseyed lion issy is about the same still not very keen on eating or drinking ,she had to have her check up tonight and the vet is really pleased with her she has got a bit of the snuffles vet says she will be likely to pick up viruses till she recovers her temperature is normal and she is on antibiotics so vet says i can stop panicing on that one, i am going to try syringing her the vet has given me 2 large syringes but she says she is a firm believer in evaporated milk ,i tried mashing her food through a strainer this morning but she was having non of it ,she is purring cause she is happy ,i know by the way she rolls about and rubs her head on my face, vet is going to take her staples out next thursday and said if she is not eating a bit more by then she might put her out and have another look but she thinks it is just a matter of time she is curled up beside me at the moment she was dreaming a little while ago her feet were twitching away so she was chasing something in her sleep cassie has got the hump with me as issy is getting to much attention and has gone and laid on the other settee

I am so pleased about Issy. All sounds really good. I really didn't wan't to worry you about the purring and now realise it is purring because she is happy! I just thought it was worth mentioning.

The weather here is just awful. I really thought it might snow yesterday!! I felt bad putting the central heating on for a couple of hours in the evening (even though I was wearing a body warmer over my sweater)!!

Definitely no gardening this week. We had a few brave visitors to the reserve yesterday and they were all dressed as if they were going on an expedition to the Antarctic!!

Have a lovely weekend everybody.

Special kisses for Issy xxxxxxxxxxxxx

This is for her:

Dear Ruth, I hope Issy is a wee bit better today, and that she is managing a tiny bit of food. Cassie - well - I can imagine the scene!!! Pup gets very put out and thats just when the hamsters get attention!!

Dear Rosetta - Yes, I can recall Tales of the Riverbank with Johnny Morris!!! Fond memories!!

Many many years ago my son performed at a theatre in London (blowed if I can recall the place - long term memory has just failed but no doubt kids will put me right) with his school choir (and other school choirs) - it was a music festival and off we all went (me, son, daughter and hubby) with packed lunch in the coach with many excited children!!! Johnny Morris was the guest and my goodness - he was so entertaining - so clever and wonderful with all!!!

What a lovely man he was. :o)xxxx
