The cockroach has remianed unchanged for millions of years, because millions of years ago it arrived at its optimum design, and has never needed to change it, and through millions of years of evolution it has remained unchanged and unchanging.
Unattractive as they are, cockroaches are the nearst thing to a perfected lifeform on this planet and the strong betting is that when the planet goes, they will be the last speices to check out - and you have to have some grudging admiration for that.
But yes, they are total creepsville!
