yowling cat

we have recently moved out to Greece with our 3/4 persian cat, he never used to yowl in the uk but now at 7.15 he is at it non stop. can anyone suggest a way of ceasing him, i try not to get up to feed him and sometimes he will go away - is this the best policy???

Could it be he senses afemale in season. Sorry if its a generalisation but I don't think cat neutering of males or females is as widespread on the continent.
As for the time, he has just woken up, feels frisky and its not too hot yet to be bothered lol
My tom is neutered, lives in the UK and starts howling at about 4 each morning - feed me! feed me!

My vet said that I should ignore him - easier said than done!
