Following on from a thread about 2 wks ago about white feathers being signs from a deceased loved one - I read today that in certain cultures a butterfly has a similar meaning (especially if one is seen around the time of death or a funeral) - it means release of spirit or some such thing.
The last thread was very moving & reminded me that every time I see a white feather I say "hello nanna". I'll be looking out for butterflies now. What would your loved one be - a red admiral, monarch, cabbage white? My nanna would definitely have been a painted lady!
Nah, but she used to love to slap on the old fuschia lipstick when going to bingo night at the old folks' home. And she used to drink whiskey through a straw (not sure if that's so she got drunk quicker or whether she didn't want to smudge her lipstick).
no knowlege of butterflies no.knowledge? That'll never do. I feel silly now starting this thread anyway - it's only cos I was reading an article in you magazine during my coffee break.
I have seen my brother as a robin that comes into my garden in the winter though.....a cheeky little thing that sits on my fence next to my window and looks in on me....
Hi Salla. I think I might have replied to that thread about My husbands experiance after a friend of his died.
After his funeral he was sitting with his friends mother in her living room when a butterfly came into the room. His friends mother suddenly smiled and said " it's alright now. He's found peace."
