Type of Bird
3 Answers
Could anybody tell me what type of bird this is?
The only reason I ask is because it had a call like ive never heard before. It sounded almost like a digital tone then the same again by elongated. It reminded me of the sound in an old film where they are trying to tune a radio transmitter in.
As far as how it looked (saw 3 in a tree)
Dark with white speckles from top to bottom of its front and a dark greeny colour at the top of the chest/breast.
Medium sized bill.

I'm not very confident as it doesn't really match your description very well. The size would be about right and it does have speckles though, but the birdsong (you can click for it on the link) isn't what you describe.
