Rabbit with dandruff?

My rabbit has a balding patch about the size of a 20p coin on the top of his back. It looks as if it is white flakes of dandruff and if you touch the patch you can lift out his fur. Can someone advise what to use for this problem?

I would get him looked at by a vet before you try anything as it could be a type of mite.
