this is sort of a media question?
out of all my family and friends ive asked not one of them use or even want this mammoth book on their doorstep every year, I know we dont pay for it directly but for heavens sake all that paper and printing ink! what a waste of resources not to mention the landfill because whether you recycle or not these days landfill is where it will finish up

ummmmm whats the question then?
this is the same question/post that was mentioned before. some people dont have internet, some older people need a number and so use yellow pages, i have used it recently and am nether old and do have a computer
Must admit - couldn't be bothered to logon yesterday so used the YP.
Question Author
there ought to be a way of telling yellow pages not to deliver to people like me who dont need / use them but by default delivered
Wouldn't you use it if you had computer problems?
Regarding recycling the Yellow Pages, my council will not accept them in the paper recycle bag.

So yes in our case, they must land up in land fill sites.
I have a computer, but still use the YP regularly.

Why dont you put a notice on your front door when its due, saying dont deliver Y/Ps.

they take no notice trt. tried it,as far as the guy who brings them, you get it,! and always when were out or at work
deggers - many moons ago I used to compile the telephone directories for BT (lovely job). I don't know if the policy has changed but The Yellow Pages were kept up to date by BT passing on updated info e.g. number changes - Thomsons were not and frequently had out of date numbers when they went to print.
I'm a team leader for Deya Ltd, which is the company responsible for delivering all of the Yellow Pages throughout the UK.

We're currently about to start delivering the new Cambridge Yellow Pages and, as always, I've been sent a big pile of 'VIP cards' for the area we're about to deliver to. Many of those cards tell the delivery staff to follow certain directions (e.g. 'Do not put through letterbox' or 'Leave in porch or hand to neighbour') but the big pile of blue cards are all simply marked 'Do not deliver to this address'. i.e. there are plenty of people who've told Yell not to deliver Yellow Pages to their house. To do so yourself, phone 0800 555 444.
