I did hear once that if you can get to a zoo and obtain some tiger or lion crap to put on your garden this will keep foxes,cats etc. away.

it' s reckoned that human hair tied to the fence will deter them - think I saw that on hugh fernley whittingstall's river cottage programme. can't vouch for it's effectiveness but its worth a try.

leave your rotweiller out in the garden overnight might put the ******* off
