when my cat eats she keeps 'wiping' her paws on the floor and walls around the food bowl?  Why does she do this

My cats also do this ..... I would also be interested to know why! My Female cat does it more than the Male cat, It's as if he is ``copying`` when he does it :-s
she is trying to bury her food. In the wild when they had eaten enough of their kill cats would bury it for later.
Maybe she's 'marking' her territory, particularly around her food bowl - cat's have scent glands on their feet, so this might be the cause of the behaviour.

Yes..When the big cats, such as lions, tigers, leopards, etc hunt in the wild, they will almost always not eat all of their food in one go. They will always hide it, and bury it in a place they will find it later.  It could be the cats natural instincts coming out and 'hiding' its food so no scavenger can get it.  I found that my cat did this when i introduced two new cats into the household!
