Yesterday in Glos, mixed woods and fields area I heard a medium pitch birdsong. The note was repeated about 6 - 8 times, then the bird moved on and sung again. What could it have been? I once heard a nightingale in the afternoon with its 3 or 4 repeated notes at the end of its twittering song, but yesterday there were just the same notes.

Try our old favourite the Great Tit. on the RSPB site Repetitive song, very loud and noticeable at this time of year.
