A doggy form of OCD I think!

Think yourself lucky, one of mine eats the carpet, only long pile though, something he can get his teeth into. LOL!

Is it always the same spot? We have a dog that licks a particular toy for hours on end. If it is the same spot it will taste and smell pretty delicious to the dog by now!!

Try cleaning the area with carpet shampoo made for removing pet odours it may break the cycle.
