Vaccinations

I have taken my dog to the vets every year without fail for her vaccinations ever since we had her but this year I am thinking twice about taking her.

Am I putting her at risk but I can't help wondering if I am just lining the vets pockets or whether they are really essential

All these answers are interesting. I have a cat and have to put him in a cattery (no kindly neighbour to look after him). As much as I love him, I resent having to pay the extortionate annual vaccination fee, but how do I get round that when he needs to go into a cattery?
