Hi Stompe, I haven't been very good this past week, in fact I'm just about to ring the hospital to see if they've got a bed for me today, I've got to go in for a few days to have a chest drain but they keep messing me about telling me they've got a bed one minute then ringing me to cancel the next so I don't know where I am :{. I'll be in touch. xxx

Just rung the hospital, still no bed ,have to ring back at 8-30 to see if anyone has been moved out :{ :{

Gelda - get a taxi to the hospital and take a inflatable bed with you. Surely they have bedding that they could give you. :-)

I hope you are feeling a bit better soon - don't want you to feel too ill to miss some cute fox cub sightings.

Hi all.Rang the hospital at 8-30, still no bed :{.
They said they would ring me sometime today if somebody gets discharged if not it will be another week because they only do chest drains on a Wednesday would you believe !
So I've just got another breathless wait, if my breathing gets really bad I'll go up to A&E.

Oh jeeeez gelda sweetie , where do you live hun , the bed situation sounds dire , and I would have thought the need for a chest drain is urgent , not just performed on a Wednesday ...what's THAT about !!!!
Get an ambulance to A&E if you need to honey , how can they leave someone in your condition to " ring and check if there's a bed " ...it's wrong ...((( hugs ))) xxxxx

As you can see I didn't get a bed !! Got booked in for next Wed. Apparently one of the reasons was that I've got rather a large breast ulcer which has become infected and the tumour has spread to under my arm so they want to clear the infection first, why didn't they tell me all this first! This was all after I rang my gp who got in touch with the hospital this morning. So it's another week unless I go up to A&E. Anyway thanks to you all for your thoughts. xxx
BTW the hospital is The Royal Surrey County hospital in Guildford.

Hi Gelda - just wanted to say hi and that I'm appalled at the lack of communication here. You should have been told this before. Hope it gets sorted so that you can get into hospital next week, but as the others suggest, get to A&E if necessary. Thinking of you
