How do u get rid of mice?

My mums got mice in her house an she's devastated ... She has a plug in that's soposed to deterr them (not working) my dads filled all the holes he can find in but she's still got them .. Theve put traps down which my mum hates cos she doesant want to kill them ... She's sleeping down stairs cos she saw one in her bedroom it's really getting her down .. Any advice please :-)

You CAN get humane traps, but those only work if you can empty the mouse at least a mile away from the house and you can get it fairly quickly after the trap being activated. I once went through 6 humane traps in three days because the mice got caught in the trap overnight and then chewed their way out.

They will breed though. 2 mice quickly becomes 20! The only way of getting rid of them effectively is either to get a cat or to poison them. Your mum is unfortunately, going to have to make the choice between killing them or living with them if the humane trap solution does not work.

Sadly I'm afraid Barmaid is correct. A cat or poison or traps. Keeping all your floors and surfaces free of food particles and ensuring that all food is securely stored where the mice cannot get it. ....no leaving fruit around in a fruit bowl...should discourage them, but it is a dreadful problem and I do feel for your Mum.
Has she been intouch with the neighbours ? If she has mice, they almost certainly will too . Hopefully they can get together and try to get rid of the little varmints.

Thanks guys :-) she as been using those traps that don't kill them ... But the other nite it woke her cos the mouse was trapped and it was banging on the drawers !!! Can u imagine? Scared her half to death... Yes she's told her neighbours an some have also got them an put traps down .. Over the back of there house is a field an they've had the odd one b4 ... I think there going to have to put poisen down my dad doesant mind em but it really shakes my mum up.. Thanks again :-)
