I was advised to put dishwasher liquid around the bed and a short time later the neighbour gave his cat away!!!! Not sure of the link between these two things but the outcome was satisfactory.
I had a similar problem which Max my GSD solved, except for one particularlly obnoxious ginger tom who would tease Max by walking up and down on top of the wall,we live on a hill and it's about 12ft high on my side, and I cured that when I was cleaning the car one day and I shot the nasty thing off the wall with the power wash. Thankfully the neighbours have since moved and took their cats with them
Whatever you do curly...do nothing that can be termed as abuse.....it will do you no good in the long run.
Remember-cats are not governed by the same rules as dogs,as they are natural wanderes and predators.
You may be better off erecting some chicken wire...to a height of 12 feet or more...that they cannot walk on..and so cannot get into your garden in the first place. They are now in...and consider you garden their territory. Best bet is to make it impossible for them to get in in the first place.

The sure way to keep neighbouring cats out of your garden is to get yourself a CAT! They are very territorial (hence lion poo works) and a big tom cat will keep others away.
However I don't think this is going to be the answer in your case is it?
It seems to me that it's a bit of an obsession with you now and for the sake of your BP, just chill!
When I garden I always wear gloves so that if I inadvertantly find some cat poo I don't get it on my hands. I put fairly large gravel (as for driveways) or coloured slate on the soil in my pots and this does keep the cats off.

problem is madmaggot that yes it is an obsession - its not the catsh*t that REALLY bothers me its the very fact that they think theyve got one over on me - and that just aint gonna happen!!! Blood pressure or not blood pressure by fair means or foul they have got to go - regarding the chicken wire well i already have fencing which is about 7ft high - maybe broken glass on the................. ah never mind JUST KIDDING ......... ; )
