My poor little Ollie
31 Answers
So sad tonight, my poor little dog, who is 14, and has been diabetic for nearly 4 years now, is now blind and hard of hearing, and quite confused, he has always been so clean, never having any 'accidents indoors' since he was house trained, he's now just weeing, I don't think he knows it's happening, he still looks forward to his walks every day, but is obsessed with food, and barks and barks for more at feeding times, the rest of the time he sleeps, I just don't know what to do!!! I know that the time is near, but I just don't know when or how to make this decision, please try to advise me if you can, I'll be so grateful!! TIA.............................welsh

I miss him very much, but know that we did the best thing for him.
He was such a kind and happy little fellow, right up until the last, he loved everyone, and couldn't resist making friends with anyone we met on our walks, we have great memories of our time with him, thanks again, you're a fantastic bunch!..................................welsh

Thank you vibra, your good wishes are appreciated. and to ahmskunnirt........ I did feel that you first post was rather harsh under the circumstances, mainly because you assumed a lot of things that just weren't the case at all, but I'm sure you did mean well, and I thank you for your good wishes....................welsh
So sorry that Ollie has gone it's always upsetting even when you know that it is coming, especially at this time of year, because despite what tthe "It's only a dog" brigade say everybody on this site knows they are much more, so mourn him, but remember the good times and that you loved him right up to the end and perhaps in a while you may get a new friend to help you along

Thank you for your thoughts ahmskunnirt, yes it felt very odd going down to the beach today without him, but I felt that I needed an airing, and it gave me a little time alone, which helped a little. I feel better today, it's going to take time, but I know that we did the right thing for Ollie, and I feel much calmer now, I'm not worrying in case he bumps into something and injures himself. As for having another dog, I'm not going to say never, but as you said it's to early to say yet, I do have a web address if we decide in the future, (it's www.manytears.co.uk if you'd like to have a look) Again, Thank you......................................wels
