I always thought it was the 1st of february but I've read that it was 1st of march and 20th/21st march. Does anyone know the correct start date?

It is strange flobadob/vulcan, I must admit. We are taught that Spring is March, April, May and also taught that the first day of Spring is 20/21 March. I could never work it out as a child and still can't half a century later. To me 1st March makes more sense.

As for lst February flobadob................ I'm glad that's not the first day of Spring, especially this year!!!

In the northwest of Ireland here we've had quite mild weather but a hundred miles down the road they've gotten piles of snow so the weather has been really weird lately. I still can't accept that this is still winter.
I must admit flobadob that February has always been classed as a winter month!! Perhaps it's different in Northern Ireland. It really freezing here in Norfolk today. Bright sunshine but freezing. Doesn't feel much like spring to me!

It was nice and frosty first thing here but now it's warm and sunny. I'm getting held back here from clearing up the garden. Not that I'm complaining.
