Cows have horns. thier size depends on the breed and of course the farmer can trim them down if s/he wants. Cows are mostly docile but occasionally turn moody for example when calves are removed from them. Near where I live a cow killed a postman using a footpath through a field, last year.
I grew up in a farming village.  To move a cow and calf they would rope and lead the calf, and the cow would follow.  One day my father was outside with out cocker spaniel when a cow and calf were led past.  The dog rushed out and barked at the calf.  We, watching from upstairs, were then treated to the sight of the dog and my father racing for the gate with the cow and her horns in hot pursuit.  She meant it too!

Yes it's true priyawarekar, cows can be highly dangerous beasts and they also have tremendous strenghth!

Don't be fooled by those large liquid eyes - even though I grew up on a farm I would rather go into a field of bulls than cows. Nowadays most  are de-horned whilst still calves as it stops injuries amongst the herd, but don't think they are harmless even then, as the forehead is used to head butt and the kick can send an adult quite a distance.

Like humans each has a character of its own - so 'know your cow'.....I still adore them - beautiful creatures...

I know of one particular cow who has horns & is always on the attack! :)

De-horner is used to remove the cows' horns - it's a kind of caustic liquid / paste, I think. A friend of mine had a schoolmate who used de-horner on her acne with disasterous consequences.
