Hi,
Well after days of deliberating how to rid our selves of the squatter in the garden, she has gone!
I took the cowards way out [was too scared to re-home the whole nest] and waited until she left for her morning flyover and snipped the branch off with the nest and put it in the green wheelie bin.
She came back and was needless to say a little put out that her babies had disappeared but at least she will hopefully be able to start again somewhere away from me!
Had a look in the nest and it was full of eggs so I'm glad I got rid of it

I have to admit the swallows started building their nest ontop of my porch light again this year and I can't face another year of them pooping over the front door and only using the back door!! Not nice for visitors. Anyway I blocked off the area concerned and have left them the whole of the porch which is enclosed and has lots of lovely beams and nooks and crannies they can use. They had only just started building and they can start again. They are divebombing me now when I use the front door - angry perhaps!
