I,ve got a Bearded Dragon and its nails are getting long as in curling over.Do they need cutting.Can I do this myself or is it a job for the vet

why not take him/her to the vet this time and get shown how to do it - better than fiddling about and possibly injuring your BD.
You have to be careful with claws.

Some animals and birds' claws are dead, much like human finger and toe nails, but some are 'live'and have a blood supply and nerves, so cutting without experience can cause a lot of pain and distress.

As advised, pop your drag down to the vets for a quick lesson - if indeed you can do them yourself - it may be a job for the professional only.
I cant help thinking that one should be doing the research on such things before acquiring the creature.
