Our 13 year old cat Tom just dropped dead this morning, no sign he was ill, he'd just eaten breakfast and that was it, he lay down and died. Shocked me it did, I was leaving for work and didn't know what to do.
He's in a cardboard box locked in the shed, : (

Same here dotty. Sorry for you to hear of your loss, but when my time comes I hope to go the same - suddenly and without pain.

dotty so sorry to hear that an awful shock for you but a lovely ending for him to go so nice and peacefully with no awful decision for you to have to make xxx
Sympathies to you dotty, I know how heartbreaking it can be. Would you perhaps feel better having a last look and goodbye to him tonight and then putting him in an old pillowcase (in the box) until you can bury him on Saturday when it might be upsetting to see him?
so sorry for you dotty..
Good thinking prudie, although it is exceptionally cold at the moment.
Really sorry -its heartbreaking feel for you :(

Aren't you all just great people? He's in one of my cardigans, it's quite a new one but it was on the clothes airer next to where he was lying and I just grabbed it to wrap him in,
Dotty, it must be comforting to you to know that you gave him his breakfast, and that you'd spoken to him this morning, so you knew there was nothing unusual about him this morning. Tom's time had come, and he died in the warm, at home where he was safe - I understand your cracking up at work. Big hug.
Dot I cracked up when my last cat passed away peacefully-almost had to be slapped as I thought it was a sick windup as she had been OK just an hour before.I feel your pain and shock -its horrendous............they give us so much fun and love for loads more in return and thats what i missed -selfish git...
I have another one -just 2days later J got us Buddy -I totally rejected him but now we cant literally live without him...........and so it goes on......but totally worth it:)
So sorry for you dotty. He had a happy life though and was loved.

People have been telling me for weeks since Bingo went and since Ton started making these whining noises trying to find him, that I should consider at least another cat, I put it off because I thought Tom might not get on with a newbie. Now no reason not to find another one, I can't do with this pet less house it's just wrong.
My sympathies, Dotty. x
Oh dear dotty...I'm really having a blub as I read this. When someone loses a well loved pet....memories of your own all come back to you.
Good on you for thinking of getting another moggie...a home is empty without some kind of furry.
I'd recommend another one-not as a replacement as they all have their same characters but cos you have a good home for a wee stray:)

Aww dotty. Can't think of any words ...... :o(

That picture is priceless. Thanks for sharing it. What fond memories you must have...
I bet I'm not the only ABer with tears rolling down their face.

I'm sorry to hear your news dotty :(

Its horrible to lose a pet, I don't know what I'd do without my dog, she's the best. She'll sit on the back door step with me and shuffle in as close as she can get and I'll put my arm around her and we just sit there and think lol. Dread to think of the day she goes.

Take consolation from the fact he wasn't in pain x
