Two rabbits bounce up to a main road at night and there is a hedgehog standing there looking forlorn.

"Hi hedgehog," says one rabbit. "What's the matter with you?"

"I've been hours trying to cross this road, but it's impossible."

Rabbit one, "It's dead easy, Hedgehog."

"Well you are a rabbit and you are quick. So many of my family and friends have been killed trying to cross over."

Rabbit one, "No it's really easy - crawl out into the middle of the lane. As a car is coming, square yourself up on the lights and lie down. Let the car pass over and then do the same in the next lane looking the other way of course. And you are over."

To prove this, the rabbit does a demo over and back, squaring himself up on the headlights, lying down as required, and then moving on to the next lane.

"Remarkable," says the hedgehog. "If only we had known this, we would have saved so many of us."

He moves out into the middle of the road, does the procedure and it works. Over to the next lane and a car is coming from the other direction. He squares up and lies down and "SPPPPLAAAAAT"

Rabbit 2 "That's a real shame. First time I have seen a Reliant Robin around here for many a year."
