put up a fence

Hi Shazza,

The very best deterrent is to get a cat of your own, but failing that orange peel is supposed to repel cats,as is pepper. Not sure how effective either of these is, but they're worth a try if you're desperate.

Good luck!

You could try 'Get Off Crystals' & sprinkle them around the garden. You can buy a bottle from Pets at home for 5-ish. They work for both cats & dogs. Good luck.
i chucked a few moth balls into the garden spot that was used  and that stopped the cats

Cats are territorial, so if one has 'marked' your garden as its patch, others will be encouraged to do the same.

First, remove all traces of faeces, and scrub the area thoroughly with hot water and bleach solution. Next, put neat bleach down on all the recent fouling spots. Finally, place moth balls at regular intervals around your boundary - about every two feet should do it - including the tops of walls and fences. That should do the trick.

You can actually buy 'Big Cat poo' from the likes of Chester Zoo for this exact purpose. You simply place a small amount around your garden and nothing, including the biggest dog in the area, will defficate there any longer! Probably quite expensive, but I kid you not.

The best answer is a cat of your own but we find bottles of water help because they will reflect flashes of light at night and this makes the cat think something else is in the garden.  Place them randomly and change their positions every now and again.

Another one is orange smells. we use the orange cleaning agent around doors  and on our bin bags to stop them ripping them open etc

Good luck!

have used these methods for years

Apparently a water pistol works well, but you need to be home most of the time.
It doesn't harm the cat in any way before I get shouted at.
