Large Numbers Of Jackdaws In Flight

This morning and on other occasions around this time of yea,r I've noticed huge flocks of these birds all flying to the west at about 100 feet, the make a load chattering sound as they go and seem very purposeful, like their on a mass migration.
Anyone else observed this ?

they are on their winter hols to the likes of Libya and Mali....no sign of AB's jackdaw on the move, yet......?
This Jackdaw ain't stupid. No way he's going to Libya!

It was quite something to see, reminded me of the Alfred Hitchcock movie 'The Birds'.
