For those of you who like birds of prey and might have read 'H is for Hawk' by Helen MacDonald.

Helen is now training a new goshawk chick.

I shall be glued to the screen. I am so looking forward to it. :-)

Recording it, Tilly......love the book....x
This has reminded me did anyone watch Chris Packham on television last night, talking about his Asbergers?
Sorry Tilly, it was because as a young boy he took a Kestrel from its nest. It was a wonderful programme.

I watched it ladybirder - it was very moving. He said that the kestrel dying was the most devastating thing to happen to him. I was very impressed by his openness and honesty and sad to think how difficult things can be for him on a daily basis.

Sorry Tilly - hope you don't mind

That's fine. I watched it and found it unbearably sad. It was brave of him to share his condition with the public in order to raise awareness.

Gness, I loved to book too. As well as being an account of her journey with the Goshawk and the reasons behind that, it was beautifully, poetically written.
Thanks Toorak and Tilly. Glad you both rated it. I too found it very moving. Goodness knows what he will do when Scratchy dies. Losing a beloved pet is so hard to bear for the best of us let alone someone with Asbergers.

I'm watching the programme you recommended now. Bye.

LOL Tilly. Thank you. I won't do that again;-)
I watched and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cinematography was stunning.
Now I need to read her book.

You're in for a treat, Pasta.
I really enjoyed both progs, in different ways. We've got several blokes like him in my bird group, they totally committed to bird watching. They'll learn all the calls from recordings and paw over identification books.
There used to be several goshawk nests in the Peak District , that's down to 1 now. You know who the culprits are....
