Where Are All The Swallows This Year?

Haven' t seen any round here so far this year in W Yorkshire.

I've read on BirdGuides that it's the same situation all over the country. Not only with swallows, but with other migrant species as well.

Our pair arrived about 10-12 days ago. Fife, Scotland

They are all flying around my local park - Warrington.

They don't really know, corylus. It could be something to do with the beast from the east.

I've seen quite a few swallows - 2 thought they might nest in one of our barns. OMG, they are SO cute close up. But for security we couldnt leave the door opened - we did leave another door open for them, but they werent interested.

Lots of house martins too.

At last they arrived here this morning swooping through the trees catching insects.

Remember that late August last year they all lined up on telephone wires early where I live very early in the morning making a hell of a racket, later in the morning they had all all left presumably back to wherever they came from in S Africa.

We usually see a lot about this time of year but not seen any on the golf course yet.

I haven't seem any round me either which is most unusual. The house martins have been here for over 3 weeks though.
