Loch Of The Lowes Ospreys

Don't think we are going to have any ospreys chicks at Loch of the Lowes this year. The nest is empty. Only one of the breeding pair (male) from last year returned then a young female turned up. No idea what happened, but they have both left. Quite sad.

It is sad. There is a theory that the nest may have been disturbed by someone shouting - it has been reported to the police.

Thanks for that link Toorak. It may be that they have nested elsewhere having been disturbed, certainly hope so.

It's always sad when a known osprey doesn't return.

Hopefully, this years pair have found themselves another nest. We may never know.
