I think this question has already been answered before, but can we please have a maths topic for all those that need help with dodgy maths homeworks,  with all the symbols + special fonts etc. ?

i believe this is the link for the question that's already been answered but i want to see if the new Ed agrees also

you could always try describing the symbols & hoping that someone'll make a valiant effort to work out what it is? or do things like "(a+bi) divided by (ai-b)" and such.

failing that, if ed'll let us change font to "symbol" that should cover most symbols...

im on about greek symbols used in maths like pi, theta, thi etc.

yeah symbol'd work for that, or you could just name them maybe?

are there really that many used, though? i know i'm only doing A-level but still, don't stumble across so many in one go such that it'd be a horrible mess if we just called them lambda theta alpha phi pi etc

you're not the only one doing a-level maths. Im doing a-level maths aswell at the moment!

ive probably only used the same symbols as you

should be alright then - it's only really constants that i reckon we'd need different fonts for, since anything'll do for a variable, so i guess it'd be more of an issue for physics...

PS, i hate P4!
