Eradicated threads/suspensions

Hi Ed/spare/moderators.
I accept that there is a 'keep it nice' ethos here and I do my best to stick to the rules but do you *have* to nanny this place so much that threads are zapped and people are suspended so readily ?
Surely a little more 'let it run its course' lenience is not asking too much and a little less censorship will allow personalities/views be seen in all their true colous, warts and all.
I appreciate that you have to draw the line somewhere, but I have seen a lot of threads pulled that were crammed with fascinating insights, colourful and constructive viewpoints and several posters suspended summarily for reasons that seemed pretty innocuous to me (even though they may also conflict with my own views).
My suggestion: please give warnings if you think someone is spoiling the ship for a ha'pennyworth of tar rather than just deleting entire threads/suspending people.

mrs.chappie ...I quickly pulled back from my comp. screen when I read your posting.

Anyway, even if I am fearful of being hit on the nose for some of my postings, I do dislike seeing worthy AB contributors placing themselves in a position of being suspended.

Hopefully Trim, ummmm and pixi will be forgiven and return with a 'welcome back to the fold.'

I really do believe that some posters could do with growing a slightly thicker skin, some could do with putting away their wooden spoons and a whole lot of folks ought to keep away from their 'Report' buttons.

This is a forum, primarily, for adults and people ought to be allowed to behave like adults and be treated like adults; even if their behaviour does occasionally border on the childish.......

And many of them were a cathartic experience for the protagonists......now, instead of tearing a strip off someone you feel has cleverly insulted you, your only recourse (for self-preservation, if nothing else) is to hit the Report button....which really doesn't compare. :o(

Boxing is in my blood but I dislike the sport. Purely for info. my great grandfather came to Wales from Ireland with his own fairground boxing booth. Furthermore it was in the days when bare-fisted fighting took place.

So please ABers don't pick a fight with me .......because I'd run a mile.:-)

Zackly Jack. It's only a small band of peeps who are on the suspension roundabout. Most of us find it easy to stick to the rules, don't we!

Bring in the "three strikes and you're out" rule. That's what I say. That'd stop the bu88ers from thinking they can say what they like.
