Viv and Ron's question set me thinking.

Could we harness AB to do some real good?

Perhaps have a section where we could try to trace truly missing people.

people sometimes post on here asking about missing people - they are rarely helped beyond being redirected to another more suitable and dedicated site, specially set up for the purpose

not sure how people here would be of any help

there are no resources, pictures, police info, files, evidence, reports, newspaper articles etc etc here - so what have we to offer?

what more could we realistically say than 'nope havent seen them'...?

actually you could even do harm if you got lucky and found someone - a psycho husband looking for his escaped wife, a father wanting to kidnap his kids, people on witness protection etc ...
there have been people on here asking somewhat unnerving questions of how to hack, whats illegal, etc that give a sense that this persons story is not strictly true...

also - this is a q&a site...

I think its a great idea Hopkirk, you never know who in honesty are on this site and there are a few people I would like to find.

Perhaps the Ed is on vacation or has gone missing, because he does not appear to be responding to folk; even when he has been the OP.
