As it is now possible to enter directly into an Answer a 'You Tube Link', I feel that the box 'Enter You Tube Link Here' is somewhat surplus to requirements.

I really haven't any suggestion of a purpose for which the box could be utilized, but feel sure that the Ed and other Abers will have some thoughts on the matter.

Just testing
You are right, Ron
I find that the embedding facility does not always work so prefer to do it via the youtube link box.
I agree with erin. I never use the embedding system as it seems to fail so often.

I have never found a failure with the embedding of any links; You Tube or others.

Perhaps it depends upon the Browser which one is using....I don't really know. I use Firefox.

I do have failures with my typing and sometimes hit two keys at the same time.

I think that we find it happens more often because SirA and I usually post lots of videos in one night. It's ok for posting one, now and again. I only ever use chrome though...

It is! At the time of launching the new "automatic embed" system we did consider removing it - but as so many were still using it we thought we'd let both options ride for a bit. This was partly to avoid hundreds of users asking where the box had gone.

It is probably time to reapproach the layout, thanks for the reminder.
We're also not sure why some links don't work Erin, but if we decide to remove the box we will ensure that all variations of the link will work.
embedding mostly fails for me (I just get a black screen); so I still need the separate YouTube link panel.
