What's The Name Of This Film?

saw it on telly about 6 months ago. the main character keeps having memory lapses (in one scene he hits a woman, then he doesn't remember he's done it, and she makes him think she's been attacked by someone else.) The film sort of plays in reverse so you see something happening, then in the next scene you see the bit that happened previously to make that happen. The man spend a lot of time on the phone in the film, and tattoos his body so he remembers things.
I know this is not a particularly coherent explanation BTW
