Spice Up The Answerbank.

How about the Extra Addon Of Smileys When you post a question? If For example, If you are confuzed and asking the meaning of something, you could choose from the selection of 15-20 smileys and select a confuzed looking smiley. Just abit of fun in the answerbank, Nothing serious, I just thought it would make the question abit more interesting, Have abit more 'life' if you like.

yeah, you could have a potty-mouth smiley for use by, uh, certain contributors. Actually, people use regular typeface emoticons a lot; I've always thought them sufficient.

Please ed, don't do it. I think there has been a general deterioration in the site since Chatterbank. Some of the complete idiots attracted to Chatterbank then drift into the rest of the site.   We used to ignore them, but they get attention in Chatterbank. I though the intention of Chatterbank was to allow a little more interaction between regular users, but it has become a forum for inanity. There are users who use it as intended, and post interesting questions and answers, but it is too much trouble to trawl though the rubbish. If you want this site to become completely trite then allow smileys and emoticons. All sites such as this change and evolve, I understand that, but if you want to retain its original purpose as an exchange of information then try to retain a little dignity.

kags- i think you are alittle selfish, Some people like chatterBank. If you dont then instead of ruining it for the people who like it, just dont go there, and if it really stresses you out mayB you should get therapy or just not go on the answerbank. Because it is the minority spoilsports who are too serious like you that ruin it for the Majority. No offence.

I agree with Matt, nothing wrong with a bit of fun, I like the idea.  And maybe we could have a serious chatterbank for intellectuals (tongue firmly in cheek) and one for the rest of us plebes.

Were you thinking black and white, surely not those dreadful garish ones? I'm undecided, as it could make the site look as though it were painted in multi-coloured ping pong balls - and don't forget you will always have  posters that go way over the top putting them in all over the place. We could all end up feeling a little giddy!

What about emoticons for the main board and the 'coloured balls' just for ChatterBank? That should please everyone.

That would mean that the majority of AB Users that like the idea will strat to post their Questions in ChatterBank, All the other Topics would slowly die. Treat Each Topic With the same respect. If one get em, they all get em.

This is what I meant by  Emoticons  :-)  ;-)  :-0  :-( . These little chaps are very useful and on  occasions necessary for the main site.

Erm, on the whole I'm with Cetti on this but we wouldn't need a choice of 20, maybe 10 or 12 would cover it. I do think that the CB is losing the plot a bit sometimes, or is it me?

Cetti, I was talking about the Smiley thingies - yes those little faces that are like coloured balls and sometimes jump up and down.  Don't mind the ones we can do ourselves such as you have shown!
