when someone gets banned...

although i am not a newbie, i am not clued up on this

what happens when someone gets banned, do all of their posts get taken off? Even really old ones?

Hiya booby,

Firstly, we don't like the word "banned", "removed" is our term of choice.

Secondly, we have two different ways of discontinuing our relationship with a user.

If a user wants be un-registered, we can do so, which will keep their username from being used again and it deactivates their account.

This is our preferred method as it keeps all their posts on the site which is good for continuity and allows other users to reference their old posts if need be.

A user will have all their posts removed in only exceptional circumstances, approved by the AB Editor. Also, if a user has posted a number of "naughty" posts its easier to remove them all in one go than doing so on an individual basis.
