I have just noticed that we are now informed when an answer is removed:

(I assume that it is not only me who can see the "This answer is banned" header.)

I thought that the general consensus of opinion was that "removed" would be much better than "banned" (and "removed" is the word used in "My profile"). Could this be changed, please, AB ed?

I can't see it

So it must be only the original poster who can see it. It just says "This answer is banned" in red over the text. It makes it sound as though I did something wrong whereas my first answer just said that I thought that the question would be better in another category and the other one apologised for this as I later found out that it had, indeed, also been posted in the correct category.

These two posts are now included in the "of which removed" column of my profile.

I can't see it either.
only visible to the poster. I presume this is so you can see what answers you have had, ahem, removed and thus learn not to indulge in the same wickedness again.

Steve - I have also suggested using the word deleted rather than banned to the AB Ed, on several occasions - this being one of them: Here

Mind you, I haven't had any duplicate Q/A removed for a very long time!
